For nearly a quarter century, Mark Cobb has been a steady hand guiding construction law throughout the State of Georgia. With deep expertise in Georgia’s Mechanics and Materials Law, payment bonds, and construction contracting, he has become a respected voice at seminars, conferences, and professional gatherings across the state. Mark’s career is not just about courtroom victories or contract negotiations–it is about leadership and service to the industry. That is why we are proud to share that he has been nominated to serve on the AGC Georgia PAC Board of Trustees, a statewide leadership committee that plays a vital role in shaping construction-friendly legislation and policy.

Political Action Committees, or PACs, are organized groups that allow individuals and associations to support political candidates who align with their industry’s interests. The AGC Georgia PAC raises voluntary contributions from members and employees of AGC-affiliated firms, evaluates candidates across the state, and strategically supports those who champion smart, pro-construction, pro-business policies. This committee helps ensure that construction professionals have a voice in the decisions that affect their projects, businesses, and workforce. Members of the PAC Board of Trustees meet regularly to review funding requests, conduct interviews, and vote on which state-level candidates receive financial support.

AGC Georgia’s PAC is managed by a Board of Trustees made up of professionals from member firms, including experienced leaders like Mark. In addition to overseeing contributions within Georgia, the board collaborates with AGC of America’s national PAC to support federal candidates who share the goals of the construction industry. While exact fundraising totals vary, the AGC Georgia PAC plays a significant role in state politics. Through candidate support, community events, and fundraising activities, it manages and directs hundreds of thousands of dollars to help ensure policy outcomes that benefit builders and contractors across Georgia.

Mark’s nomination to this board reflects his long-standing commitment to the construction industry and his deep understanding of the legal and regulatory challenges it faces. With his background in construction law, he brings practical insight to the committee’s work. His perspective helps ensure that legislative decisions are informed by real experience, not just political agendas. Whether addressing issues around payment enforcement or helping contractors understand shifting regulations, Mark has always been a trusted resource.

This nomination is a meaningful recognition of Mark’s leadership. He has always gone beyond the role of legal counsel. He is a teacher, a mentor, and a thought leader. Now, as a member of the AGC Georgia PAC Board of Trustees, he will have the opportunity to help shape the future of construction in Georgia. We are proud to celebrate this next chapter in his career and know that he will continue to serve with the same dedication and excellence he has shown for decades. Congratulations, Mark. Your voice will serve the industry well.
