Biography:
The Cobb Law Group is pleased that Robby Stubley has joined its team of talented attorneys. Robby’s practice consists of construction law and construction litigation. His real-world experience, dedication to completing tasks, and his attention to detail make Robby a great advocate for our clients. In fact, his understanding of law is equaled by his understanding of business, and using these tools, Robby readily gains the trusts of his clients and colleagues as well as the respect of judges and opposing counsel. He has a strong concern for building strong client relationships which is a unique hallmark of the Cobb Law Group’s construction law practice.
Prior to entering law, Robby spent several years working for construction companies where he honed his practical knowledge of the construction industry. He worked as labor on project sites as well as inside the office. Thus, to every case, Robby brings a wealth of experience from job-site field directives to reviewing monthly PayApps, understanding meeting minutes and daily journals, lien waivers and releases. This knowledge combined with his legal experience makes Robby an integral part of our complex construction litigation team.
As a Georgia native, Robby attended the University of Georgia, where he received his B.A. in Advertising in 2012. After graduating, Robby worked for a commercial real estate firm in Jacksonville, Florida, where he served as marketing manager and assistant property appraiser. There, the scope of his work entailed working alongside attorneys, and this experience prompted him to pursue his own legal career. Prior to entering law school, Robby also worked for the District Attorney’s office of the South Georgia Judicial Circuit as a victims’ advocate, in an effort to gain experience and a better understanding of the legal field, litigation, and court systems.
Although Georgia construction law can be a narrowly focused practice, Robby regularly works on such matters as construction contract drafting, responding to default notices, and working on significant construction litigation matters; in addition, he has a track record of successfully negotiating settlements involving construction disputes, mechanics and materialmen’s lien claims, and payment bond claims; furthermore, he has been instrumental in drafting lawsuits involving multi-million claims to perfect and enforce lien claims, and he has assisted with formulating discovery, drafting motions, and participating in motion hearings.
Robby received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2017. Among other focuses, his legal studies included the areas of agricultural, environmental, coastal and water use law. Additionally, while in law school, Robby was actively involved in many student organizations. He served as Vice-Chair of the Moot Court Board, was chosen and served as a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council, and co-founded the Ole Miss Law Rod & Gun Club.
Robby is a Thomasville, Georgia native where he grew up hunting and fishing. He was recently married and hopes to build his family while engaging in the community and continually developing his professional skills.
