Biography:

After graduating with a B.A. from the University of Georgia, Adam attended law school at the University of Maryland; during this time, he worked full time as a law clerk for the Baltimore City Department of Social Services. His legal studies emphasized Cyberlaw, Internet Policy and Intellectual Property; however, clerkships with the federal court and with Johns Hopkins Health Systems’ Labor, Contracts and Commercial Transactions practice groups took him in a different direction and broadened his interests leading him into complex construction litigation.

While in law school, Adam was actively involved in student activities. He co-founded and served as vice -president of the Christian Legal Society, and he participated as a member of the Intellectual Property Law Society. In addition, and perhaps more importantly, he sang with the Law School’s a cappella group, Legally Sound, and he served as the editorial cartoonist and staff writer for the school paper. He also held memberships with the American Bar Association and was a member of the Section of Science and Technology Law and Young Lawyers Division.

After graduation Adam pursued a career as in-house counsel at Wells Fargo Corporate Trusts before moving back to his hometown of Thomasville, Georgia, to start a family. His emphasis at Cobb Law Group has been representing owners, developers, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors, and material suppliers with construction litigation and enforcement of materialmen’s liens and payment bond claims. Adam has a successful track record with all manner of construction-related litigation including delay claims & damages, liquidated damages, breach of contract, defect claims, insurance claims, and indemnifications.  Also, he represents many business owners, general contractors and subcontractor with their workers compensation claims. In an industry frequently utilizing contract labor and an industry subject to risks, Adam is seeing more workers – as well as the Department of Labor–seeking to be classified as employees. With frequent changes to the labor laws and regulations and the resulting claims against construction professionals, Adam stays up to date on the latest case holdings and statutory changes.

Since the Cobb Law Group represents resident and non-resident clients on their construction projects throughout Georgia and since many of our Georgia clients often work on construction projects in other states, Adam enjoys the opportunity to work with local and remote businesses to provide corporate document drafting and address trademark and licensing issues. In addition, he has gained a great deal of experience litigating, arbitrating and mediating matters throughout metropolitan Atlanta as well as in the more rural areas of our state.

Having been raised in Thomasville, Adam believes that is it an ideal place for his family. Consequently, he is actively involved in the community through the Rotary Club where he currently serves as Deputy Director of Membership; he also serves on the Board of Directors with the Thomasville Entertainment Foundation which brings world-renown classical and contemporary musical programs to town for the engagement of its patrons and as well as area students.
