What is a Materialmen’s Lien? A “lien” is typically a legal right acquired in someone else’s property by a creditor, and there are many different types of liens; a “materialmen’s lien” is a special type of lien that gives a security interest in property to someone who supplies labor, services, equipment or building materials used during work performed on that property. Consequently, for someone working on a construction project who isn’t paid the value of their work, then a materialmen’s lien may be a very useful tool to help them collect the money they are due.
Are Materialmen’s Liens Unique in Georgia?
